Robert Ruel Sebastian passed away peacefully in Middletown, DE on February 9, 2026.

Bob was born in Albion, NE on September 12, 1932 and spent the majority of his life in Delaware. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy at age 17. His time in the Navy was a defining and memorable period for Bob. After an honorable discharge, Bob began work at the DuPont Company as a mechanical engineer, from which he retired after 25 years.

Those who knew Bob would describe him as a kind and intelligent gentleman known for his integrity. He was an excellent fine woodworker, painter, builder, and designer. Bob and his wife Dolores, loved camping, traveling, and spending summers at their home in Maine.

In addition to his parents, Robert G. Sebastian and Violette E. Sebastian, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Dorso Sebastian and second wife, Dolores Strahorn Sebastian. He is survived by his daughter, Karen S. Tichnell (Edward); son, Robert W. Sebastian (Michelle); daughter, Laura K. Dixon (George); daughter, Leanne Thompson; and sisters, Ellen Sebastian and Margaret Chandler; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bob had a full and rich life and will be deeply missed and remembered.

A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Middletown Senior Center, 300 S. Scott Street, Middletown, DE 19709.
