Age 74, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026.

Born on September 5, 1952 in Albany, NY, Merrill was the oldest of four children of Florence (née Kenig) and Philip Schwartz.  He served in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller in Vietnam, and later developed a lifelong passion for building and fixing computers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beth; his sons, Jared and Corey (Jennifer); his grandson, Grayson; his brothers, Brian and Jay (DiNell); his sister, Perri (Dave); and eight nephews.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite animal rescue organization.
