Age 46, died suddenly on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in New Castle, DE.

Jessica was the beloved daughter of Dr. Paul and Cindy (née Silverman) Imber. She is survived by her parents; her sister, Erica Imber; her brother, Aaron Imber and his wife, Molly; and her beloved nephew, Austin Imber, who held a very special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Claire Mae Silverman and Aaron and Cynthia Imber.

Jessica was a lifelong learner whose talents, dedication, and love of music were woven throughout her life. She attended The Pilot School and graduated from The Tatnall School in 1998, where she received awards recognizing her accomplishments in music and voice.

She continued her education at Goucher College, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education and a minor in Music. During her years at Goucher, Jessica was the recipient of academic scholarships and earned academic honors. Her commitment to learning and to music continued through her studies at Gratz College School of Cantorial Studies and through her completion of her Master’s degree at Immaculata College, with a Master of Arts in Music Therapy.

Music was one of the great joys of Jessica’s life. She loved singing and sharing music with others. For many years, she led the choir at Congregation Beth Shalom, bringing her musical talent and devotion to the congregation. She also played and sang with the Klezmer band, the Chai-Lites, sharing her love of Jewish music and performance with the community.

Jessica was deeply involved in the life of Congregation Beth Shalom. She was an active member of the synagogue’s Sisterhood, where she chaired the Ritual Committee and played an important role in programming the annual Women’s Seder. Her involvement reflected her love of Jewish tradition, community, music, and the connections she formed with others.

Jessica also built a long and dedicated professional career. She was a nationally certified medical coder and spent more than 25 years with ENT & Allergy of Delaware, where she worked as a medical coder and biller. Her longevity and commitment to her work reflected the care, dedication, and professionalism she brought to everything she undertook.

Jessica’s sudden passing leaves a profound and lasting loss for her family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew her. She will be remembered for her dedication to education, her accomplishments in music and voice, her professional commitment, her devotion to her synagogue and Jewish community, and, most importantly, for the love she shared with those closest to her.

Her voice, her music, her devotion to community, and the many ways she gave of herself will remain part of the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, colleagues, and the many members of the community whose lives she touched.

Memorial Services

A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1801 Baynard Boulevard, Wilmington, DE 19802. Shiva will follow the service at the Siegel JCC, 101 Garden of Eden Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. Shiva will be observed 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24 at the Siegel JCC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Shalom (www.cbswilmde.org) or the Delaware Humane Society (www.humaneanimalpartners.org) in Jessica’s memory.
